I proudly use humans for every step of my publishing process and am against Generative AI.

Generative AI is theft, short and simple. I do not use it and have no intention to use it for the publication or marketing of my books.

The closest I get to using anything AI in my books are assistive AI type things such as spell and grammar checks. (And even that tends to cause more trouble than help half the time.) I come up with my stories on my own without the aid of AI and do all my own writing. My cover artist is my wife (she loves when I look over her shoulder while she's drawing...) and I do my own formatting. I use Canva Pro and Photoshop for some of the cover formatting and Vellum for interior formatting. I do realize that these programs may offer AI features, but I do my best to avoid using them. Any images used are either created for me specifically or non-AI stock images, which I use extremely sparingly. (Though I do use the occasional stock image for some promotional things like backgrounds for quotes or aesthetic videos and trailers, but I actively try to make sure none of them use AI art.) 

I use a professional editor and proofreader as well as teams of Alpha and Beta readers for editing and feedback. Promotional artwork for my books is done either by my wife or my oldest child. I can also draw stick figures if the moment calls for it. (So far no moments have called.) You can learn a little more about the artists, editors, and others I work with here.

If you think I have erringly used AI for any of my artwork or marketing materials, feel free to reach out to me. Since I have Actual Inteligence instead of Artificial Inteligence, I am prone to human error. As much as I do my best to avoid it, AI is pervasive and invades everything like glitter or a nasty rash that refuses to go away and contaminates everything it touches. Likewise, if you see authors, small businesses, or social media accounts associated with me using AI, you may notify me so I can investigate their use. However, please do not start witch hunts. That does no one any good and often harms genuine artists.

Furthermore, I do consent for any of my work to be to train AI and ask that none of my books be uploaded to AI for reviews or any sort of marketing. I am also firmly against my books being made into audiobooks using Virtual Voice.
